Background
A global investment management firm partnered with Osprey Software to improve visibility and efficiency in its automated processes supporting investment product marketing. The organization had already automated portions of its data workflows but needed a clearer understanding of the impact – both the efficiencies gained and the areas where further improvement was possible.
Challenge
The client’s primary goals were twofold:
- Demonstrate value of automation already in place by documenting time and cost savings.
- Identify gaps and future opportunities where additional automation could streamline processes and reduce dependency on manual effort.
A further challenge was ensuring transparency and traceability in how data was being sourced and transformed, which required establishing a clear audit trail for ongoing governance.
Solution
Osprey Software engaged with IT, Solutions, and Product Marketing teams to capture a comprehensive picture of existing processes. The approach included:
- Documenting all source data, data feed schedules, and SQL queries used in marketing material production.
- Developing data flow diagrams to provide a clear, visual representation of the data journey each quarter.
- Implementing an Audit Trail process to track when and how data sources were changed, improving accountability.
- Providing additional support in QA testing and vendor selection for a Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) application to further automate marketing material workflows.
